====== Paurgiliath Peacekeepers Fortress PK#3 ====== __Map: O19-O20__ This is a large harbor fort, strongly fortified, and with a significant protective squadron. In addition to a strong Paurgiliath Peacekeepers garrison, it regularly hosts Imperial Military and Free Imperia Navy forces. It is built tucked into Exiles' Craw, separating the neck of the Olyas Kriis from Bulchyades, with a road running about 120 miles ENE past IM#6 to Dolornost Arnĕn. Coupled with Imperial Military Watchtower IM#5 and Imperial Military Watchtower IM#6, it has been effective at interdicting the culture of raid and counter raid between the nomads and herders of Eastern Bulchyades and Northern Olyas Kriis. Along with the four Free Imperia Navy fortifications around the Bight of Exile (IN#24 on olyas_point, IN#25 on Lōdenūlý Bay, IN#26 on Pyramid Peak Point halfway down the Ivory Peninsula, and IN#29 at the mouth of the Chennacatt River), it has been very effective at ending slaving raids and bringing the Olyas Kriis, the Bight of Exile, and the larger region under the Emperor's Peace. It has repair facilities for wet navy and Jammers, though it doesn't build hulls. It has a naturally protected anchorage, and strong fortifications guarding both the harbor and the shortest land route to the Sister Cities from the Bight of Exile. It also has an extensive dye works, both refining cochianel from the local cactus insects, popularly used for Imperial crimson, and kilning alum ore from local works into the usable dye mordant. Only the limited fresh water has kept this outpost from growing into a full blown city. In addition to the small drinkable yield of the brackish river, and what fresh water can be harvested through the clever evaporation-reclamation system that produces fresh water from the salt panning operations, reserves are augmented by moat tankers filling reservoirs from the sister cities. Clerics call forth freshwater springs from time to time, and it is hoped that the first Water Lotus field trials by the Biological Section of the Field Engineering Corps will be successful here.
