Old Cud was an old, insane man, but it was clear that he is still dangerous, as well. He is still a good man even if eccentric. Cud's battle tactics begin with casting monster summoning and then using magic and weapons with guile and treachery. If the opportunities present themselves, he casts additional monster summoning spells, working his way up the levels. Old Cud's eyes are clear and he stands up straight and proud. He is extremely fit for a guy his age. His actual name is Clarendon of the Singing Sword. He feels like he owes the Free Imperia a debt as he sees the group is undertaking great deeds. He wants to accompany the players as much as possible. His sword was a legend in Arda. His name is spat on in the hells as he is a powerful and sly demonologist whom has captured and killed many of them, even in their own realm.

Clarendon is a specialized Summoner, and is unable to use any spells but spells of summoning, however he does get bonuses of specialization as well as the ability to cast while wearing armor. As a demonologist he is extremely knowledgeable in the legend and myth of the abyss and in the hierarchy of hell.

The Singing Sword: Broadsword +2, +5 against summoned creatures. This is the famous Singing Sword. It is intelligent, Lawful good in alignment, and has a high Ego. It sings in battle, which acts as a bless spell for Clarendon and his companions.

It is also a special-purpose weapon, dedicated to killing summoned creatures and creatures from the lower planes. It acts as a holy symbol when unsheathed around evil creatures.
