The more isolationist Silvanesti Elves chose to set their capital on the Northern more protected lobe of Great Sylvanesti Bay, at an Eastern terminus of the Great Inland Waterway Initiative to help oversee Imperial timber consumption. Outsiders generally stay to the port neighborhood, but from a sense of comfort not a prohibition. A human outside of the port district would be likely to acquire a helpful companion who assisted them in completing their business before escorting them politely back to an appropriate place to stay by the docks.
The Sylvanesti take good advantage of the port city, despite how many of them prefer to dwell in the surrounding forests. Their artful one piece custom grown hulls are highly sought after as small craft, though the largest are reserved for their own use. They scout new tree, plant, and mushroom species, and breed strong lines from them: their botanical scions and products are highly valued throughout the Empire.
They have also maintained lines of offworld stock. Their Fey Cherry line is magnificent, and they are rumored to be consulting with the The Great Shipyard in Micadonia on the growth of elven style hulls for Spelljamming. It is rumored that they breed rare beasts, but if so it is for a very select client list.
It is certain that they are working well with the land. All the forest within their nominal borders is not only grown into a stunning defense, but beautifully sculpted. Hallucinatory forests and entangled thorny undergrowth steer visitors to buttercup filled glades filled with butterflies, or to a stunning vista of waterfalls, before closing behind them and stranding them for pickup.
They have also made space for some of the smaller fey creatures that settled with the Free Imperia, or that snuck in after the gates were opened, though the population of elves and little folk are both lower than pre-apocalypse numbers. There is some talk of seeking dryads, treants, sprites, and such in Greyhawk or Toril and inviting some if no Arda equivalent appears.
