Aian is the grandson of Oronto Ambarone, born on the Rock of Braal, to Oronto's son Airon, who went missing on a long 'Jamming expidition when Aian was young. Unless his father returns, or his grandfather has more children, he is the heir presumptive to the Lordship of Sithagong despite being only half elven.

He grew up often being mentored by the Dragonflies' chaplain while his father was busy. The chaplain was a human priest of Mystra who passed some time ago, and Aian took over after his death. Today he serves as Commandant Oronto's personal chaplain, secratary, and bodyguard. His time as part of the company gives him credit beyond his age with the long term members, and while he has no official Free Imperia Marines rank, he is generally listened to.

He likes things that blow up, and his grandfather finally insisted on equipping him with a Pouch of Accessibility so that he was less likely to explode nearby.
