Castle Sancrest and its walled trading city perch in the Yellow Mountains between the navigable headwaters of the Sîresha River between Isra and Chennacatt and the Koros River above Kingfisher Lake. The city guards a traditional trade route and maintains a Lock-tanker shuttle.
The Solamnic Orders' smiths here are beginning to recieve some well deserved fame, and local guides and pilots can be hired on by trading caravans and ships. Even some of the swamp men of Geshaan come here to hire on as guides, and camels and other draft beasts are readily available.
Apart from metalworking, river boats are built and repaired here, and the Rose Market includes cultivars of Krynnic Stock bred in the monastery gardens of Dragon Manor along with Arda-native stock. Most of the Monestary's business matters are conducted here as well.
Outlying villages herd sheep and goats, and are experimenting with terraced rice farming, in a tradition learned from Lord General Iemochi Tokugawa's folk. Good quality grapes are also grown in the region, along with experimental plantations of tea and coffee.
