Ered Ormal, or the mountains of the Southern Lamp, are thought to be remnants of the destroyed lamp pillar set in the South by the Valar. Also known as Ered Harmal, or the mountains of Southern Gold, they are rich in precious ores and stones.
A zigzag mountain range in SE Endorë, separating the arid reaches of Khand from the Chey plateau in the North, and extending down the Jojojopo Peninsula in the South, they are the Eastern border of the Great Harad desert, and the Southwestern border of Palisor, the great Eastern steppe land of Endorë.
Barony Tranth occupies one of the major passes between Khand and the Khey plateau. It's capital, in the pass itself, is Belfaux. It also includes Sofular, a village on the ruins of Sturlurtsa Khand some eighty miles to the West of Belfaux, and Orothiar, an autonomous enclave of Dwarves, some thirty miles Northwards near the old Bloodstone mine. The Dwarves of Orothiar may be descended from those of Azagarbhun, a Dwarven war mansion of the third age.
The Capital Sister Cities of the Free Imperia, Nexus Prime and Micadonia, along with the Suburb Capitals in South Valley and Westmark of the various monarchs of the Empire, and attendant outlying forts, are Far South in the range at the Neck of the Jojojopo Peninsula.
