On an island steeped with mysterious ruins and artifacts of the Human Ages of Arda's past, in the middle of the sheltered Grand Monaco Bay, Baron Munchausen has built a prosperous resort town. In addition to forming a vital link in the ocean trading route to the Imperial Lumberyards in the North, it is a popular vacation place for important members of the Empire. Swaying palms, sunlight, gentle breezes, fragrant tropical blooms, and bright colored birds accent this remote paradise, along with fantastically deep freshwater blue holes and elegant remnants of ancient machinery.
Oysters bearing rare black pearls are found in its encircling bay, and Alpaca farms dot the coastline of the bay, along with centers of quasi-local trade with King Cormach's City of Haven to the West, the Dwarves of the Tri-King Fortress settlements to the South, and the Elflands Silvenesti capital city of New Silvan to the North.
Mysterious sightings by divers (and aquatic elves) in the blue holes and in the bay add to the charm, without thusfar posing much threat, and glassteel diving bell underwater observatories are a major tourist attraction.
