Founded and ruled by Thalion Paurgiliath Arch Duke of Eltán, Rhóvanost is the largest city in the Mûmakan peninsula, and fairly isolated. Separated by huge inland swamps from the Solamnic settlements to the North, and by significant sea travel from the Rainbow Barbarians to the West and the Ivory Coast to the East, it is an interesting cultural mashup of Harnic Elves and the tall dark skinned native tribes. Through a policy of protection and support of peaceful trading partners, the warlike bands in the area have been more or less unified into tribal families that trade freely with the Empire, though usually in open air markets outside the walls. Increasing numbers of local youths work and train to join the WATC or Peacekeepers.
The savanna is home to great numbers of Mûmak, Rhinoceri, Musk Ox, great cats of several sorts, crocodilians, and Hippopotami, all of which are the subject of active breeding programs to supply the Paurgiliath Peacekeepers and the Empire at large. In addition, any number of fruits, aromatic woods, and spices are traded from the interior, along with some quantity of Black Opal and other precious stones.
Rumors of a long abandoned ancient court of giant falcon breeding Elves in the forests to the Northwest are as yet unsubstantiated, though huge birds have been seen in the forests.
Oceangoing Hulls are built here, in a spectacular natural harbor, and there are significant 'Jammer repair facilities.
